Default PvE Content Idea Thread

No angry faces, now im pissy about this and that ... I play pvp as much as the next addict and love it ... but this thread is for the pve side of it. It came to me as I was setting my skill bar peacefully in ice tooth cave ...

1. Why the heck is therre only ice tooth cave, serenity temple, and maguuma stade that are 'out of the way' and not necessary. More useless towns would be nice, to add a quiet refuge to those in need of ridding themselves of spammers. Dont need it and I know that it is low on the priority chain, as I read the countless whining threads in this forum. Just a thought because I, and others that were there like the serenity once and a while.

2. In contrast to the nice quiet peaceful serenity of the useless outpost? I hope one of your future packs contains a Gladiator arena. For viewing pve peeps can walk in, or pvpers can go at it 1 vs 1, or you could have random monster 1 vs 1 or 1 vs 3 type idea. This would help with your item unlockingfor pvpers. So I propose that the next Lions Arch contain a Gladiators Arena with all of those features your working on currently.

Thanks, and I hope others post some other content ideas in here too. No need to create another thread for us to chase through and race through. There are already many (less than enticing PvP threads) to read.
Less than enticing = poor approach = whining. I've seen a few really nice pvp suggestion threads that are constructed in a positive manner that get the message across, others fail the positive aspect and the message comes out whining. I hope this thread does not turn into that so please post your ingenuity and brilliance here ...

I like the gladiator idea. In EQ there was only one rarely used gladiator's arena in a town zone (Sanctus Seru for you old EQ types . . . I'm not talking about the PvP areas in towns). You basically bought a ticket and when you were ready, you handed that ticket in, which would spawn a tiger (or some other mob . . . can't remember now) for you to dispatch of. I don't think the idea was fully fleshed out in EQ. The tiger was kind of weak and didn't give good exp. They should have added a number of purchasable tickets for a variety of deadly mobs for you to match wits with. I think people could have had a fun time with the gladiator arena if they would have 1- put it in a more centralized zone (not really a problem in GW as it was in EQ), 2- scaled the difficulty.

Gladiator arenas could be another money sink.

yes they could be ... but balancing the idea into the economy isn't my job. I'm sure that Anet has economy conversations for weeks, and could work it into the game. After all a new city, a new quest, a new mob is also a part of the overall economy.

I've also thought of many other content ideas which I am sure are already second news to everyone like, water, air, kingdoms etc ... but again I'm not going to go in depth because I'm sure that the devs have all these ideas and plans, yet not enough manpower to carefully and strategically implement them. I am very content with the game as is ... and look forward to all updates functionality and content. But I just want to hear any other ideas that could add an interesting piece to this already great game.

I like both ideas... I would like to see something far far out of the way where the people are like "ascalon? what's an ascalon?" And the gladiator arena? TOTALLY!!! But I would also like to see this option available in the guild halls. Set a person vs. a creature (or team vs. team as you said) It could be cool. Imagine 3 warriors and a single monk trying to take out a seige worm! That would be cool to watch, especially if it's in the gladiator arena environment.

They need some REALLY out of the way towns though (like at the end of a string of EA's and no rezz altar nearby...). They also need some more funky out-of-the-way towns like Marhan's Grotto (in the Grotto, the ground is ice and slows your movement in-town...kind of annoying now that I think about it )
